In Missouri to update the gender marker on your drivers license you would only need a signature from your medical provider (i.e. endocrinologist or therapist) on form 5532 and taken to the DMV. I had printed this form and sent it to my endo on Monday and she filled it out and I took it to the DMV today on Friday and was told it was no longer valid and the law had "just" changed to require a court order or proof of SRS. I can't find any news on this law/policy change other than the link to the form on the Missouri Department of Revenue's website now being dead.
Funnily enough the DMV clerk was very confused by the male marker on my ID I was renewing until I gave her the form.
