So, after a seemingly eternal wait finally in Colombia the Himalayan 450 will soon be available.

This is big news because its tailor made for this country with its hugely varied and rugged terrain.

The catch is we only get to choose between the Hanle black and gold, the Kaza brown and the Slate Grey and Poppy Blue.

If I had a choice of the entire range I’d go for the Kamet white or Slate sea salt but I don’t so I’m trying to figure which one of the available 3 to go for ( quickly, because the pre-sale will vanish soon.

So , questions:

How brown is the Kaza brown. From the photos it looks quite pale, almost white and the bike looks like it’s unfinished. I do think it shows off the shape of the tank well, though.

Regarding the slate poppy blue – how dark or light is the grey! In the flesh does it look fresh? The main problem with that one in Colombia is that the prison service here paint their vehicles grey and blue as well. Don’t want took like the prisoner bus escort rider.

Hanle Black. Looks striking but maybe a bit loud and flashy. It’s nice to have something cool looking but in Colombia it pays well not to draw to much attention to yourself. So once a rider is sat on it how discreet or otherwise does it look? And how well does this colour option show off the cool shapes of the tank and everything? Also, if the gold rims get scratched will it look awful, or are they gold all the way though.

Any answers observations, or opinions based on seeing any of these bikes in real life would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone!
