  1. One of the best character workers of all time. Sid had a presence and a look about him that very few could match. He wasn’t that great when the bell rang, he didn’t cut the most intelligent promos but the intensity level and the energy were hard for most others to match.

Even when he was saying stupid things like he had half a brain, it was 110% level. When he was jumping up and down on a crushed car screaming about Goldberg, 110%. His entrance at Survivor Series ’96 stands the test of time, from the fist bumps with the fans to the SID pyrotechnics.

Sid wasn’t going to win any awards as a wrestler but he left an impression every single time you saw him work.

  2. This is sad 🙁 I had no idea he was battling cancer

I think I maybe even made a thread many years ago about him, saying that he is underrated or something like that, cause no one talks about him when we talk about people that were part of the main-even. He was perfect in the role he was used in, and he was always entertaining to watch. I found him to be one of the first big men who kinda broke the mold of “scary guy, not talking, just being menacing” he was a big guy who had a personality on his own.

Super underrated in terms of people talking about him online at least, as far as pushes go he definitely had his fair share of good programs.

    May he Rest In Peace

Also, this is a good chance as any to say that there was a twitter account with a large following pretending to be him, so if you saw a “Sycho Sid” tweet or anything…it was someone pretending to be him

  3. This is sad. Sid was one of my faves as a kid and starting watching in the New Gen, Sid was presented as a killer. The theme song, the promos, the crazy twitches. The man had aura. He got pops wherever he went. He got a pop at an ECW show of all things. ECW!!!! Sid was a vibe for sure. Idk if it is on YouTube, but the Raw before International Incident, where Sid was going to replace Warrior in the 6 man tag. Has Sid crashing a car and just getting out like nothing happened and started to brawl with Camp Cornette backstage. That solidified him as a badass to me.

Maybe the most underrated wrestler of the 90s. Cancer fucking sucks. RIP masterANDTHERULERoftheWORLD *Sycho Snicker*

  4. Just how legendary this guy was:

    * He got more cheered than Hogan in ‘92 Royal Rumble
    * The only person to beat HBK and Bret Hart for world titles
    * The crowd went crazy for him beating HBK for the WWF Championship when he was supposed to be the heel
    * During Shawn Michaels iconic promo about losing his smile, the crowd were chanting “we want Sid”
    * Main evented Wrestlemania 2 different times against Hogan and Undertaker under 2 different names

He should’ve been in the Hall Of Fame a long time ago! RIP Sid and thank you for everything you gave this business to entertain us all.
