ACT Teachers Representative France Castro Calls for Impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte over Misuse of Confidential Funds

In a shocking development, ACT Teachers Representative France Castro has called for the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte over allegations of misuse of confidential funds. This comes after the Commission on Audit (COA) issued a notice of disallowance to the Office of the Vice President, citing the unauthorized use of funds.

According to Castro, the Vice President’s alleged misuse of confidential funds is an impeachable offense, and she has called on Congress to take immediate action to investigate and prosecute the Vice President.

"This is a serious breach of public trust and a clear violation of the Constitution," Castro said in a statement. "As the second-highest official in the land, the Vice President has a sacred duty to uphold the law and protect the public’s interest. Instead, she has chosen to line her own pockets with public funds."

The COA notice of disallowance alleges that the Office of the Vice President spent P50 million on "undocumented" expenses, including entertainment and travel allowances, without proper documentation or approval. The COA has ordered the Office of the Vice President to refund the amount to the national treasury.

Castro’s call for impeachment has sparked widespread outrage and demands for accountability from the public. The move has also put pressure on the administration to take swift action against the Vice President.

  1. They ought to get the ball rolling. Yun lang, the DDS would probably like the fact that her office bought information and maintains safehouses. It’ll be a platform for her to spew out anti NPA stuff while ignoring her family’s kowtowing to China.

  2. Problem is the Senate. If naabsuwelto= boost in ratings for 2028 Elections due to underdog, sympathy and pa-victim. Another China- Duterte administration in 2028, samahan pa ng mga ob ob at madaling mauto na mga tao na boboto…

  3. Like I said, be very smart with the timing. Make sure before you (House) pull the trigger, guarantee that she really can’t defend it. And make sure that Senate is also in the same page. Or else, it will be half-baked.

Sara is embarrassing herself in the House budget hearing. Her supporters think “she’s cooking something”. Though it’s seems she’s trying to push back the impeachment, and at the same time baiting her supporters to rally against the impeachment.

  5. I really don’t think that’s a good idea tbh. She’ll just be getting more public attention as an underdog. Unless of course she isn’t allowed to run for office again.

  6. Won’t happen yet. If this is actually something they can use to impeach her, they’ll keep this silver bullet in their pocket until they’re sure they can take down the rest of the Dutertes and what’s left of their support.

Right now, the VP is making a fool of herself in court. Sure, it’s galvanizing their diehard supporters by making her look “kawawa”, but it’s also alienating a lot of normal, relatively-clear thinking people who just see Sara for what she is — an incompetent, spoiled brat who thinks she can muscle her way through congress like it’s a barangay hall.

Coupled with the outrage surrounding Guo, POGOs, and their ties to the Dutertes, as well as Quiboloy’s continued refusal to comply with the police, the last few month’s news cycle has overall been quite damning against Davao.

My guess is they’re going to keep up the pressure for another year or so. They’ll slowly chip away the D’s support with scandals like what we’ve seen in the last few months and steadily escalate things until the presidential election draws near. Expect financial support to be denied to them at every turn to limit whatever resources they’ve got to fight back. It’s also possible that we’ll see raids on drug dens in the Mindanao in the next few years to further tighten the stranglehold on their income streams.

They’ll bring in the ICC at some point in the next few years to go after the old man and Bato, probably Baste as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the PNP is kept in line with threats of being thrown to the wolves if they don’t play ball with Marcos. At that point, D’s will be short on funds and their whole cult of personality will have run out of steam after the troll farms shut down, save for a few holdouts.

This is all speculation, of course, but it would be *very* entertaining to watch it play out like this.
