Police to Explore Whether Other People Committed Criminal Offences Over Fayed Abuse
In a shocking turn of events, police have announced that they will be investigating whether other individuals may have committed criminal offences in relation to the alleged abuse carried out by Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed.
The news comes after a damning report was released earlier this week, detailing allegations of sexual abuse and harassment made against Al-Fayed by multiple women. The report, which was conducted by a leading law firm, found that Al-Fayed had engaged in a pattern of behavior that was "utterly unacceptable" and "inexcusable".
As a result of the report’s findings, Al-Fayed has been stripped of his honorary knighthood and has faced widespread condemnation from the public and the media.
The police investigation is expected to focus on whether other individuals may have been aware of Al-Fayed’s alleged behavior and failed to report it, or whether they may have actively participated in or enabled his abuse.
The investigation is also expected to examine whether any criminal offenses may have been committed by Al-Fayed’s associates or employees, or by anyone else who may have been involved in or aware of his alleged behavior.
The police have appealed for anyone with information or evidence to come forward and assist with their investigation.
