Hamlet Meets Radiohead in Groundbreaking Stage Show: "To Download or Not to Download" Debuts in London

In a bold and unprecedented move, the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has announced a thrilling new stage show that brings together the iconic characters of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the iconic music of Radiohead. Titled "To Download or Not to Download", this innovative production merges the timeless themes of the Bard’s classic play with the haunting sounds and atmospheric vibes of the iconic rock band.

London Premiere:

The eagerly anticipated production will make its world premiere at the RSC’s Stratford-upon-Avon theatre on March 15th, 2023, before transferring to the West End’s Lyric Theatre on April 1st. "We’re excited to explore the parallels between Hamlet’s inner turmoil and our own experiences with technology, social media, and the search for truth."

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood:

Radiohead’s enigmatic frontman, Thom Yorke, and the band’s guitarist and producer, Jonny Greenwood, have written an original score for the production, incorporating their distinctive soundscapes and melodies. "We’re honored to be a part of this groundbreaking project," Yorke said. "Shakespeare’s words are timeless, and we’re excited to breathe new life into them with our music."

The Cast:

The production features an all-star cast, including RSC Associate Artist, Paapa Essiedu, as Hamlet, alongside a talented ensemble of actors, musicians, and dancers.
