AND OUR RAIN CHANCES AS WELL. YES, MY GOODNESS. OH MY GOODNESS. YOU GUYS WERE PROBABLY WHAT GETTING CAUGHT IN THOSE DOWNPOURS AS YOU’RE OUT AND ABOUT FOR LUNCH TIME. IT’S JUST BEEN NON STOP SINCE ABOUT MIDDAY. HOWEVER, WE’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO SEE THIS ON AND OFF RAIN SHOWERS FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS FOLKS. SO WE’VE GOT TO GET USED TO THIS. LET’S GO AHEAD AND TAKE A LOOK AT OUR SATELLITE AND RADAR THIS AFTERNOON. YOU CAN SEE THIS IS THE CULPRIT. TROPICAL WAVE INVEST 90 L. WE’VE BEEN TRACKING THIS MOISTURE SINCE EARLY LAST WEEK. SO NOW HERE IT IS IN THE GULF OF MEXICO, OFF TO OUR SOUTH AND WEST. AND THIS IS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE. YOU CAN SEE VERY DISORGANIZED. BUT WHAT IT’S DOING IS DRAGGING A LOT OF TROPICAL MOISTURE UP TO THE NORTH TOWARDS OUR DIRECTION. AND THAT IS WHY WE’RE SEEING ALL THIS MOISTURE RIGHT NOW. IT IS MOVING OFF TO THE NORTHEAST AT 13MPH. WINDS OF 25MPH. YOU SEE, IT’S AGAIN VERY HIGHLY DISORGANIZED AND NOT EXPECTED TO DEVELOP IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. SO THAT’S GOOD NEWS FOR US HERE AT HOME. BUT LOOK AT THE MESS THAT’S CREATING, NOT JUST HERE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA, BUT EVEN DOWN IN SOUTH FLORIDA, WHERE THEY’VE ACTUALLY HAD A COUPLE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNINGS AND SOME BROAD ROTATION DOWN TO THE SOUTH, WE’RE NOT SEEING THAT AT ALL RIGHT NOW, JUST A MESSY COMMUTE HOME AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT OUR FIRST WARNING RADAR, YOU SEE THOSE HEAVY DOWNPOURS RIGHT ALONG THE I-4 CORRIDOR STRETCHING FROM LONGWOOD ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE THEME PARK DISTRICT. HEAVY RAIN RIGHT NOW NEAR APOPKA, AS WELL AS LONGWOOD, OCOEE, DOWNTOWN ORLANDO, EVEN DOWN TO MEADOW WOODS DOWN TOWARDS KISSIMMEE. WE ARE SEEING A WIDE SWATH OF RAIN. MOST OF THIS FAIRLY LIGHT THOUGH. NEAR POINCIANA KISSIMMEE CELEBRATION, SAINT CLOUD SO ALL ACROSS OSCEOLA COUNTY WE’RE SEEING ACTUALLY LOTS OF LIGHTNING AND SOME HEAVY DOWNPOURS. SOUTHERN VOLUSIA COUNTY, INCLUDING OAK HILL, NORTHERN BREVARD COUNTY AS WELL, INCLUDING SCOTTSMOOR AND TITUSVILLE. AND WE’RE ALSO SEEING THAT MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN OUT TO THE WEST. ABOUT 18 LIGHTNING STRIKES WITH THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS NEAR TAVARES, LEESBURG LAKE PANASOFFKEE, AS WELL AS BUSHNELL RAINFALL SO FAR TODAY, ABOUT ONE TO ALMOST THREE INCHES OF RAIN. HORIZON WEST JUST A LITTLE OVER 2.25IN. SAME WITH BELLE ISLE NEAR TWO AND A QUARTER AND A LITTLE OVER AN INCH IN LONGWOOD SO FAR TEMPERATURES THEY’VE BEEN TAPERING OFF BECAUSE OF THE RAIN AND CLOUDS. 78 RIGHT NOW IN ORLANDO, AS WELL AS THE SANFORD 70 IN BITHLO AS WE GO THROUGH THE REST OF THE EVENING, I DO THINK WE’LL GET A BRIEF BREAK, ESPECIALLY AROUND 7 TO 8:00 TONIGHT. BUT THEN AS WE GO INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, IT’S GOING TO BE VERY WARM AND VERY STICKY, EXPECTING MORE WET WEATHER ON THE WAY FOR TOMORROW THOUGH. SO KEEP THOSE UMBRELLAS HANDY. IT’S GOING TO BE VERY WARM AND STICKY NIGHT WITH LOWS TOMORROW DROPPING DOWN ONLY INTO THE MIDDLE 70S. HIGHS BACK INTO THE MIDDLE 80S TOMORROW WITH THAT SOUTHWEST RELIEF FLOW. AND THAT WILL CONTINUE TO BRING MORE RAIN OUR WAY. SO A QUIET START IN THE MORNING. NOTICE AS WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON. CLOUDS ARE STILL GOING TO BE AROUND. SCATTERED RAIN SHOWERS AND THEN MORE NUMEROUS RAIN SHOWERS IN THE LATE AFTERNOON TO EVENING. THEN AS WE GO INTO AROUND THURSDAY, ANOTHER SWATH OF RAIN EXPECTED TO MOVE IN KEEPING THINGS RATHER ACTIVE FOR US THROUGH ABOUT THURSDAY AND THEN THOSE RAIN CHANCES WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH AS WE GO TOWARDS THE WEEKEND. RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR THE NEXT FIVE DAYS, ANYWHERE BETWEEN 2 TO 6IN OF RAIN FROM THE ORLANDO METRO ON SOUTH, LESSER AMOUNTS OF FARTHER NORTH. YOU ARE. AND SO THAT IS WHY WE ARE WATCHING THE POSSIBILITY OF A FLOOD THREAT FOR TOMORROW, THURSDAY, AND EVEN INTO FRIDAY. BUT I DO THINK FRIDAY THAT FLOOD THREAT DOES START TO WANE A BIT. The National Hurricane Center is tracking an invest, dubbed Invest 90-L, that has a 10% chance of forming over the next few days.According to the NHC, a trough of low pressure over the eastern Gulf of Mexico is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms, which is expected to move across Florida.Most of Central Florida has seen rain on and off Tuesday. While the formation chance is low (near 10% in the next 48 hours and 20% in the next seven days), heavy rainfall is expected across portions of Central Florida through the end of the week.The system will make its way off the southeast coast later this week, and some slow development is possible after that, the NHC says.Invest is short for “investigation,” and refers to a weather feature that the NHC is investigating. It should be noted that it is NOT necessarily an area that is expected to develop into a tropical system.
