The Sacramento Kings are trading former lottery pick Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov and the 45th pick in the NBA draft on Thursday to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Jalen McDaniels, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal gets the Kings under the luxury tax and opens a roster spot.

Mitchell, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2021 draft, averaged 5.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 15.3 minutes per game for the Kings this past season. The point guard’s best season came in his rookie year, when he averaged 11.5 points.

Vezenkov, a forward who was a second-round pick in 2017, averaged 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds this season — his first in the NBA.

McDaniels, a forward who entered the league as a second-round pick of the Charlotte Hornets in 2019, averaged 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.8 minutes per game last season. His best season came in 2022-23, when he was averaging 10.6 points with the Hornets when he was dealt to the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline.
