The Warriors have waived guard Chris Paul.
Chris Paul averaged 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 26.4 minutes over 58 games with Golden State last season. He was originally acquired by the Warriors via trade with Washington on July 6, 2023. pic.twitter.com/x5WQvsj220

Golden State saves a large amount of luxury tax money with the waiving of Paul, who played off the bench for the first time in his career last season. The 19-year veteran averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 assists while shooting 44.1% for the Warriors, who finished 46-36 and did not qualify for the playoffs.
Paul, a 12-time All-Star who ranks third in career assists and steals, now becomes an unrestricted free agent and is able to sign with any team.
