Latest on new tropical disturbance in the Atlantic
IT IS A LIVE SUPER DOPPLER FOUR IMPACT DAY. WE’VE GOT SOME STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ON THE WAY THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT I’LL GET YOU UPDATED ON THAT IN A SECOND. LET’S FIRST TRACK THE TROPICS. WE’VE GOT AN AREA OF DISTURBANCE RIGHT HERE THAT’S GOING TO BE INTERACTING WITH THE TROPICAL WAVE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THOSE ARE GOING TO KIND OF JOIN FORCES AND GAIN A LITTLE BIT OF STRENGTH. AS THIS HEADS OUT TO THE WEST. THIS COULD BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION BY WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY WITH A 50% CHANCE OF FURTHER DEVELOPMENT AS IT POSSIBLY HEADS OUT TOWARD FLORIDA BY THE WEEKEND. WE SHALL SEE. IN THE MEANTIME, NICE AND UNSETTLED ALL ACROSS THE REGION, WE HAD SOME RAINFALL OVERNIGHT, A LITTLE BIT OF RAINFALL EARLIER THIS MORNING, A COUPLE PLACES GOT A GOOD SHOWER OR TWO. MOST OF US JUST A LOT OF CLOUDS AS WE GO THROUGHOUT THIS AFTERNOON. ALL OF US ARE IN THE YELLOW. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? WELL, WE’VE GOT A LOW END THREAT. SOME OF THOSE THUNDERSTORMS TODAY COULD BECOME SEVERE. BUT WAIT, TOMORROW THE SAME THING. SO SOME STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS. IF THEY DO BECOME SEVERE. THE MAIN CONCERN ARE GOING TO BE STRONG WINDS. SOME OF THOSE GUSTS 4050. IF THEY BECOME SEVERE BECAUSE OF THE WINDS THAT WOULD BE 58 MILES AN HOUR OR GREATER, SOME LIGHTNING AND SOME DOWNPOURS. SO ISOLATED AREAS OF FLOODING IS POSSIBLE, BUT NOTHING WIDESPREAD. LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT THE TIMING. TWO 3:00 TODAY WE’LL START TO SEE SOME OF THOSE BUBBLING UP ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND MOVING DOWN ACROSS PARTS OF THE UPSTATE. AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA. TOMORROW MORNING, A FEW OF THOSE STRAY SHOWERS AND DOWNPOURS VERY LIKELY, ESPECIALLY IN THE MOUNTAINS. BUT TOMORROW AFTERNOON, MORE OF THOSE DOWNPOURS AND THUNDERSTORMS GUESS WHAT? WEDNESDAY WILL BE THE DAY MANY OF US ACROSS THE UPSTATE RETURN TO THE 90S. SO IT’S GOING TO BE HOT. IT’S GOING TO BE HUMID. IT’S GOING TO BE UNSETTLED. AND HERE WE GO. WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, MORE OF THOSE DOWNPOURS AND THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THEN THURSDAY ARRIVES AND WE’VE GOT A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE COMING IN. SO THAT SINKING AIR UNDER THAT RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE IS GOING TO MAKE HARD FOR RAIN TO COME BY. SO MAINLY DRY THURSDAY, A FEW HIT AND MISS SHOWERS. FRIDAY. AND THEN AS WE GET TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK AND INTO THE WEEKEND, WE COULD SEE A TROPICAL SYSTEM TRY TO DEVELOP SOME MODELS, BRINGING IT ON THE EAST SIDE OF FLORIDA, IMPACTING THE CAROLINAS. OTHER WEATHER MODELS BRING IT ON THE WEST SIDE OF FLORIDA, IMPACTING BASICALLY PARTS OF THE GULF OF MEXICO. BUT HERE AT HOME, NICE AND UNSETTLED. SO MORE SCATTERED RAIN VERY LIKELY HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND. WE’LL CONTINUE TO TRACK THE TROPICS AND KEEP YOU UPDATED. WE’RE ALSO KEEPING YOU UPDATED ON THOSE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. AGAIN, A COUPLE ON THE STRONGER SIDE TODAY, TOMORROW AND EVEN WEDNESDAY AS WELL. HERE COME THE 90S. THEY’RE COMING BACK IN THE MID AND UPPER 90S. THAT HEAT INDEX IS GOING TO FEEL EVEN HOTTER. SO HOT, HUMID AND UNSTABLE RIGHT ON THROUGH T
