California Rocked by 4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Near Los Angeles

A powerful 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck California on Tuesday morning, sending shockwaves throughout the region. The quake hit at approximately 7:09 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located in the San Fernando Valley, just outside of Los Angeles.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was felt as far north as Sacramento and as far south as San Diego, with reports of strong shaking and damage reported in several areas.
"It was a really intense earthquake," said Los Angeles resident Sarah Johnson. "I was in my office when it hit, and everything shook violently. I’m just glad no one was hurt."
The quake was reportedly centered near the community of Sylmar, which is approximately 30 miles north of downtown Los Angeles. Emergency responders are currently surveying the area to assess the extent of any damage.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has issued a statement urging residents to be cautious and to follow all instructions from local authorities.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and working with local authorities to ensure the safety of all Californians," said Newsom. "If you are in an area affected by the earthquake, please follow all instructions from emergency responders and take necessary precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones."
