i don’t know who else would truly understand this situation and all the nuances that come with it, so i figured this was the best place. the best news is at the end.

some of you may have read my PPROM loss story back in December with my sweet Evren. it’s taken me eight grueling months to get to a point where i felt i could clearly and concisely explain everything that happened to the hospital’s complaint and grievance director. she asked why i waited until now to file a complaint, and honestly, i don’t know why i did. i felt paralyzed any time i thought about it. sure, i’d talked to malpractice lawyers, but going directly to the source where it happened felt like too much.

i got through it all. every single little detail. every single turn and choice where they did my son and i wrong, from the moment we walked up to the desk to the moment i had to LEAVE MY ROOM to ask about test results and if i could be discharged.

at the end of the call, she was absolutely appalled. especially by the doctor laughing at me, and the fact the ultrasound tech told my partner that he was not allowed in the ultrasound room, and then also told me it was “policy” that i couldn’t look at my own ultrasound(????). but the best part?

she said she might be able to get me the recording of that last ultrasound on CD. those will be the last pictures of my son, safe and sound in my womb. the later ultrasounds from the OB ER had little to no fluid, so nothing was distinguishable, so they didn’t print them. the machine at my OB’s office was old, so my 16 week pictures are blurry. these may be the only ultrasound images i get that look like everyone else’s.

i’m hoping and praying so much that she can get them. i just need to see my baby again. i need to see him not struggling or fighting to live like when i had him. please send so many thoughts and prayers or whatever you believe in.
