Reports/rumor: "Switch 2" Not Coming Out Until at Least Next April
Get ready to wait even longer for Nintendo’s next major console release.
In a bombshell development that is sending shockwaves through the gaming community, sources are citing that the "Switch 2" – as it is widely known – may not be releasing until at least April of next year. This news follows months of rumors and speculation about the anticipated console’s release date.
The delay has left many gamers and industry enthusiasts searching for answers as to why such a major hold-up might be occurring. Many had been speculating about an early 2024 release window, with some analysts even predicting an as-early-as-mid-summer launch. The revelation that Switch 2 might not drop until almost a full year from now has thrown everything into uncertainty.
Nintendo remains tight-lipped regarding the exact details surrounding the Switch 2’s development, with only scarce information dribbling out in snippets. Official statements have mostly been limited to mentions of ongoing "evaluation" and "improvements" to the gaming landscape.
When asked to comment on this alleged delay, Nintendo’s representatives told us only: "We won’t comment on speculations or release dates of future products."
Whatever the cause for the delay, rumors are also circulating that the much-anticipated controller refresh, hinted at last E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), might no longer make it into this year’s package. The possible reasoning behind this remains unclear, but would likely spark massive backlash should it materialize.

The online media is abuzz with the word that while Nintendo still expects to announce the successor to the Switch sometime before the end of next March, they're telling developers not to expect product release until April at the earliest. Of course, everyone hopes that means April or May 2025, not November or something.
This all seems to come from a single source: Video Games Chronicle. The terminologies used by Nintendo refer to "this fiscal year" and "next fiscal year." Nintendo's fiscal years run April through March.

Nintendo’s Fiscal year is April to March so Fiscal year 2025 for Nintendo Starts April 1st 2025 I said months ago they would most likely announce in March of 2025 for an April release, I’m not sure why people thought it would be coming sooner when Nintendo said themselves they would talk about it next year lol
