Date: August 12, 2019
Caimanes, Nicaragua – In a shocking incident, vandals have unleashed a wave of destruction in Caimanes, a small town in the eastern part of Nicaragua. The acts of vandalism, which began on Tuesday night, have left several businesses, schools, and government buildings damaged or destroyed.
According to eyewitnesses, the vandalism began around 10 pm local time when a group of individuals, estimated to be around 20-30 people, converged on the town center. The group, allegedly affiliated with a local anti-government movement, targeted several locations, including the local police station, city hall, and several businesses.
"I was in my shop when I heard the noise," said one local resident, who wished to remain anonymous. "I looked out the window and saw a group of people smashing windows and setting things on fire. It was chaos."
The violence spread quickly, with reports of property damage and looting coming in from all parts of the town. The local authorities, who were initially caught off guard, scrambled to respond to the situation. Several police officers were injured in the violence, and at least one person has been reported missing.
The motive behind the vandalism is still unclear, but officials suspect that it may be linked to political tensions in the region. Nicaragua has been experiencing political unrest since 2018, with widespread protests and clashes between government supporters and opposition groups.
The incident in Caimanes is the latest in a series of violent acts to occur in Nicaragua, which has been plagued by political instability and social unrest. The international community has condemned the violence, calling for an end to the cycle of violence and a return to peaceful means of resolving conflicts.

After an unexpected three-month hiatus the crime spree in Bolivia seems to have restarted, the latest being the vandalization of various vehicles in Caimanes Province.
Evidence suggests that the perpetrators might be a more aggressive offshoot of Pac Katari’s rebel forces, though many speculate that a completely unknown party might be responsible.
General Baro, commander of UNIDAD, was unavailable for comment but El Sueno’s head of security El Muro has assured the public that he is personally leading an investigation into the crime spree in an effort to to expose the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
In other news, UNIDAD officers were called to investigate a series of bombings targeting various Santa Blanca shipping docks across Caimanes Province. There are no leads at this time but General Baro’s second-in-command El Comandante suspects that the bombings are connected to the wave of violence in Barvechos three months earlier.
The investigation is ongoing.
