Couple days ago I was pulled over in kettering. I pulled out of a parking lot and quickly moved into the far lane of a one way with 2 lanes. At first I was confused because I didn't think what I did was illegal so when he told me why I was frustrated but whatever I'll just be more careful next time.
The problem is he literally only mentioned why he pulled me over for a split sec before he started in on me asking if I was high. He said he smelled pot and took a long sniff in my car. First off I don't smoke anymore I used too years ago so I was casual and like uhh nope and then he asked if I smoked in the car in the past and that he smelled it luckily I hadn't so again no. He continued on with questions like that until he just ran my license and let me go.
I didn't think much of it until the news tonight and all the talk about driving while high….
I looked it up and good lord the rules are so arbitrary and have some steep consequences even if they just suspect you might be high.
Luckily I'm a white dude, I just have a big beard and was wearing a dirty shirt from doing yard work so for sure profiling but man that cop was itching to hit me with an OVI its obvious now after the fact he was trying to set me up and the police force is being coached to put pressure on people who smoke so be careful out there and like getting the rec law passed has pissed off the boys in blue.
