Teen Arrested After Stabbing at Irish Army Barracks in Galway
Galway, Ireland – A 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after a stabbing incident at the Irish Army Barracks in Galway, Ireland.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 pm on Tuesday evening, when a group of teenagers allegedly broke into the barracks and engaged in a violent altercation with military personnel.
During the altercation, one of the teenagers allegedly produced a knife and stabbed a 25-year-old army officer in the chest. The officer was rushed to University Hospital Galway, where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
The 17-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. He has since been charged with attempted murder and is being held at Galway Garda Station.
The Irish Army has launched an investigation into the incident, and an internal review is underway to determine how the security breach occurred.
