Local Journalist Goes Rogue, Creates News Website; World Holds Breath for UI Disaster

In a shocking move that has left the journalism community reeling, a novice journalist has taken to the digital streets and created a news website, much to the dismay of professional designers and SEO experts.

The as-yet-unnamed individual, who wishes to remain anonymous, is rumored to have spent hours crafting an abomination of a user interface (UI) that is sure to leave viewers questioning the very fabric of reality. Gone are the days of clean lines, functional navigation, and intuitive design principles – replaced instead by a jarring mishmash of clashing colors, illegible fonts, and overwhelming visuals.

"It’s a war crime," said a shaken observer. "I’ve seen kindergarten projects with more cohesion and readability."

But wait, there’s more! In a bold move that screams "I have no idea what I’m doing," the site’s creator has plastered the homepage with a dizzying array of keywords, meta tags, and link structures that would make even the most experienced SEO guru weep tears of despair.

"It’s like they’ve thrown a handful of SEO buzzwords at the wall and hoped some of it sticks," lamented a nearby coding expert. "I’ve seen some questionable SEO practices in my time, but this takes the cake."

As of now, the website remains live and – dare we say it? – breathing, awaiting the inevitable backlash from the web community. Will it survive the onslaught of critique and scorn, or will it succumb to the cruel whims of the online universe? Only time (and the mercy of the internet) will tell.

Hello, I had the idea of creating a satirical news website that myself and some friends could contribute articles to. I made the project in NextJS and it's currently hosted on Vercel. I created a supabase backend where the articles are stored and retrieved from, I would love to get some suggestions on the design and UX/UI if anyone here wouldn't mind.

  1. Looks good need a little space at the top between the header and the actual content, also it feels weird having the hamburger menu on the left.

    Only tested on mobile.

    Good luck
