Kolhapur Dream Team Foundation
Have you people heard about this NGO that has sprung into existence in recent years.
Few years ago it was actually called Dream Team.
It was apparently started by a small group of girls with the guidance of few adults.
After seeing the plight of poor people during the worse times of COVID-19, they wanted to do something for those people in whatever way they could.
So they started giving out free breakfasts and snacks to the people in hospital premises. Every morning they would get up early to prepare breakfast in significant quantity and then transport the food items themselves and would distribute it with their own hands.
Their heroic service was covered by few news channel such as DD News HD, S News etc.
In Oct 2021, they also donated 1000+ books to Zilla Parishad schools for overall development of poor students from Std. I to Std. VII. The books were of General Knowledge, Moral Stories, Science of Technology, History, Motivational book, Vedic Maths.
As time passed their group grew bigger and bigger as many other kids came to volunteer.
Other social works they have done since last few years:

Distributed faraal to the poor people such as construction labourers etc, during Diwali (Nov 2021)

Celebrated 31st Dec 2021 by providing free blankets to the poor.

Built water plant for the patients and their families at CPR hospital.

Distributed free lassi in CPR after the completion of one year of their organization.

Donated 500 books to government school, Girgaon.

Gave out refreshments to the police, white army volunteers, frontline workers and devotees on the occasion of Navratri at Mahalaxmi Temple, Kolhapur.

Gifted food items to poor people on the occasion of diwali and also gave out 1000+ clothes (Oct 2022)

Visited and spent their quality time at old age home on the occasion of their Second Foundation Day (May 2023)

Took initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of not using plastic carry bags. They provided 800 cloth carry bags in shopping areas of Mahadwar Road, Kolhapur and collected 1000 carry bags for recycling.

Just like before on the night of 31st Dec 2023, they provided free blankets to beggars.

Took initiative in creating traffic awareness (Jan 2024).

With the collective power of volunteers, families, influencers and visitors, crafted 2000 eco-friendly paper bags. (Jan 2024).

Distributed 160 sanitary pads to women and educated them about it properly. (Feb, 2024)

Visited a local slum and provided educational stationery while empowering the young minds with knowledge. (Feb 2024).

Created awareness about the importance of voting in public spaces such as traffic signals before the Voting day (May 2024).

Organized various social works with the help of young kids- Visiting old age home, Jyotiba Cleaning Drive with kids etc. (May 2024)
They all did these while still studying in school and college.
This year they celebrated their 3rd foundation day (May 2024) and have begun to plant trees. Currently they have planted 200+ trees, many new people have volunteered in this tree plantation initiative.
This way a small initiative from Dream Team went on to become a NGO, the Kolhapur Dream Team Foundation.
