Feels like the obvious answer is that you leave.
It’d be one thing if they were receptive; that might be a good opportunity for you to pursue a big project which would look great on a future resume. But since they’re unreceptive, it seems as though the better option would be start the job search and move on.

I think you need to leave. Hell, I own a company that fluctuates between 45 and 60 ppl per year and I have clear strategies. I also value my “challenge network” (hate that phrase) and definitely want to hear it if my people think I’m doing something wrong.
