So…
A few months ago I went to support a friend at her drag show fundraiser. I decided to get in fem mode to support her. The fundraiser was at a bar that I've been to a few times in male mode. I was nervous that they would know who I and be judgemental in who I am.
I worked through the nerves and got in makeup. I chose a casual outfit(the pics I provided is the outfit I wore that night) and got ready. I ordered a uber and went to the bar. I walked in and all eyes were on me from the staff. It was a comforting lgbtq environment, so I was at ease.
I went to the bar and order a drink. The male bartender was friendly and took my order. I took my time with my beverage, and order another one about 15 min later. I order another drink from the same male bartender and he graciously made it for me. Then I broke the news to him who I was…
His mouth dropped and was in complete shock! He couldn't believe it was me! It was almost like a 90s sitcom moment where the main character dresses as a woman and no one notices.
It was a very satisfying moment. It was in that very moment where I realized I'm getting better at makeup. I felt like a very feminine woman as well. It made me more confident and more courageous to step out as myself more often.
