I dont really know what I expect out of this post, im just a little in shock. My dad had precancerous growths in his pancreas, and needed them taken out in what shouldve been a relatively simple operation (albeit still 4-5 hours).
However something went really wrong during the surgery, he had a haemorrhage in an artery. It ended up lasting 12 hours, and I had just received the news last night of what had happened. I went to visit him today, but he's been kept unconscious, needs another surgery tomorrow to close him up??, and with breathing tubes and all kinds of things coming out of him keeping him alive. The doctors said its more likely than not he'll survive, but before they operated he was completely fine, so Im taking things in on my own accord. Still, hes beaten worse.
My dads quite old, his 69th birthday is very soon. He was so normal the last time I saw him, just polishing his shoes, talking about the football, and patrolling our garden. That was right before he headed to the hospital. I don't know if I nor my family could handle him passing, especially in such sudden circumstances. I already lost both my grandmothers and an uncle in the last 12 months.
I love my dad so much, I always look up to him. Just seeing his room empty, or thinking about having our usual family dinners without him, its unbearable. I really hope he pulls through. I'm an atheist, so for me once its done its done, but this can't be the end.

I lost my dad last February. It was sudden and I didn’t get to say goodbye. It’s going to be hard if it does happen. Heck I still can’t talk about him without crying. I wish you believed because my dad has sent me so many signs and dreams. I hope your dad pulls through as you don’t need to deal with this at the age of 18. I hope it’s not offensive but sending prayers to you and your dad.
