Murder Charge Laid in Maple Ridge Shooting, IHIT Says

A murder charge has been laid in connection with a shooting in Maple Ridge, B.C., that left one person dead.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) made the announcement on Wednesday, saying a 25-year-old man from Maple Ridge has been charged with second-degree murder.

The shooting occurred on April 22nd at a residence in the 200-block of [Street Name]. Police were called to the scene and found a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

IHIT spokesperson, Cpl. Frank Jang, said in a statement, "The investigation has been thorough and extensive, and we believe we have identified the person responsible for the shooting."
