Buffalo Dentist in Hot Water Again: Fifth Time Charged with Malpractice

Buffalo, NY – In a shocking turn of events, local dentist, Dr. James Smith, has been charged with malpractice for the fifth time in recent years. This latest incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, leaving patients and colleagues alike stunned and concerned.

According to sources, Dr. Smith was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with negligence and malpractice following a complaint filed by a patient who alleges that he botched a routine procedure. The patient, who wishes to remain anonymous, claims that Dr. Smith’s actions resulted in severe oral health complications that have left her in significant pain and discomfort.

This is not the first time that Dr. Smith has faced allegations of malpractice. In the past, he has been accused of performing unnecessary procedures, misdiagnosing patients, and failing to provide adequate care. In 2018, he was even temporarily suspended from practicing dentistry by the New York State Department of Health.

Despite the numerous allegations against him, Dr. Smith has maintained his innocence and claimed that the complaints are nothing more than a conspiracy to ruin his reputation. However, patients and advocates are calling for greater accountability and transparency in the dental community.

"This is a classic case of a dentist putting profits over people," said Sarah Johnson, a local patient advocate. "Dr. Smith’s actions are a betrayal of the trust that patients place in him. It’s time for him to take responsibility and ensure that his patients receive the care they deserve."

The Buffalo Police Department and the New York State Department of Health are investigating the latest allegations against Dr. Smith. No further information has been released at this time.

So this guy has been posted about before for using epi on a pregnant woman instead of carbocaine. he kindly did an extraction for her where noone else would because few dentists,me included, like to work on pregnant woman. Been on news 5 times .now the governor is calling out the Dept of Health over a slow investigation. Maybe not the worst thing a dentist has ever done to make the news? 1. Dafuq? There is no evidence that you can’t use lido with epi on a pregnant patient as long as there isn’t a blood pressure issue. There’s also nothing wrong with performing a necessary extraction on a pregnant patient

  2. Am I missing something? Lidocaine is the go to anesthetic for pregnant patients. Elective treatment is okay in the 2nd trimester and emergency treatment should be okay during any trimester to get patient out of pain. Am I setting myself up to be sued?

  3. The issue is that the obgyn said to exo tooth without epi. He used lido with epi because he felt it was a better anesthetic for the exotic and has had a reporter in his face in his parking lot 5 times .woman is fine, baby fine. Just feel like major overreacting when governor gets involved.JMO

  4. If the pt’s physician says not to use something then you don’t don’t use it. If you disagree then you call them and talk about it or at the very least talk to the patient about it.

this incident alone is not a big deal, but this guy has had a number of complaints against him. All of them for relatively small things but together they look bad. As far as I can see, none of these would be an issue if he communicated with his patients better and documented things properly… except medicaid fraud, that’s just dumb af and one of the quickest ways I can think of to lose your license

Dentists fuck up all the time. COMMUNICATION is the most important skill one can learn doing our job! I believe this completely
