Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Faces Backlash as He Raids Homes of Latino Democrats and LULAC Members
In a move widely condemned as political retribution, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office has launched a series of dawn raids on the homes of Latino Democrats, including members of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). The raids, which have sparked widespread outrage and concern, are being seen as an unprecedented attack on the rights of minority citizens in the state.
According to reports, agents from the Texas Attorney General’s office, accompanied by local law enforcement, burst into the homes of at least half a dozen Latino Democrats, including State Representative Cesar Blanco, State Senator Roland Gutierrez, and several LULAC leaders, demanding access to their homes and personal records.
The raids are believed to be part of an investigation into allegations of voter fraud, which critics claim is a thinly veiled attempt to intimidate and silence minority voters who have been instrumental in the Democrats’ recent electoral successes in the state.
LULAC, one of the oldest and most respected Latino advocacy organizations in the country, has condemned the raids as a "clear attack on the rights of Latino voters" and a "desperate attempt to undermine democracy in Texas."
"These raids are a blatant attempt to bully and intimidate Latino voters and silence their voices," said LULAC National President Margaret Patota. "We demand that Attorney General Paxton immediately stop these raids and focus on meaningful solutions to the real issues facing Texans, rather than resorting to baseless political witch hunts."
Other Latino leaders have also joined in condemning the raids, calling them "a dark stain on the integrity of the Texas justice system" and "an affront to the values of fair play and due process."
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a long-time ally of Paxton’s, has thus far refused to comment on the raids, sparking widespread speculation about the extent of his knowledge and involvement in the controversy.
As the fallout from the raids continues to unfold, critics are calling on Paxton to resign and demanding that the Texas legislature take action to protect the rights of minority voters and stem the tide of political intimidation and harassment that has plagued the state in recent years.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present the party of freedom.
So they’re randomly raiding and stealing the equipment of people doing voter registration for Democrats this close to the election…based on “feelings” from 2022?
What would the legal recourse be here? This seems insanely “civil rights violation”.
…and they know they can stall any litigation for years imo
