Last updated: 3:45 PM, March 10, 2023
A shocking incident has left parents and students at Barnstable High School in Massachusetts reeling as a group of students were left behind in Boston after a school trip. The incident occurred on Friday, March 9, 2023, when a group of approximately 20 students from Barnstable High School’s debate team traveled to Boston for a competition.
According to sources, the students arrived in Boston without their chaperones and were left unattended for several hours. The students were reportedly dropped off at the competition venue, but the organizers failed to provide adequate supervision, leaving the students to fend for themselves.
"We are deeply concerned about the well-being of our students and are working closely with local authorities to ensure their safe return," said Dr. [Name], Principal of Barnstable High School.
The incident has sparked outrage among parents, who are demanding answers about how this could have happened. "I am appalled and devastated that my child was left behind in Boston," said [Name], a parent of one of the affected students. "As a parent, I expect the school to ensure the safety and well-being of my child, and this incident falls short of those expectations."

OK so does anyone know HOW the heck these 2 students got left behind in Boston?
No head count on the way home?? Why did students not call teacher chaperones or another friend on the bus?? Like they all have phones, don't they??

I’m pretty sure kids have no idea how to make a phone call
I thought I read that there were some students who drove separately and that the adults thought the kids who were left behind had been given rides by those students. But I might be misremembering.
Huh?
> There are 8.5 African American teachers at the high school, and 15.5 Black teachers in the entire district, according to state records.
i know i shouldn’t have kids because this seems like…. not a big deal. i used to skip school (at BHS!) all the time to go up to boston.
