Narrator: "We have a developing story for you tonight, as former students of Kis-Lyn, a now-closed reform school for boys in England, have come forward to share their harrowing tales of abuse and mistreatment. This story has left many shocked and appalled, and we’ll be delving deeper into the allegations as new information emerges."
Kis-Lyn Reform School for Boys: A Troubled History
Founded in the 1950s, Kis-Lyn was meant to provide a second chance for troubled young boys in need of discipline and guidance. However, accounts from former students paint a grim picture of physical and emotional abuse, poor living conditions, and a lack of adequate supervision.
Allegations of Abuse and Neglect
One former student, John Smith (name changed for anonymity), recalls being subjected to daily beatings and humiliation by school staff. "It was like they thought we were animals, not human beings," he said in an emotional interview. "I was pushed to the brink of breaking point more times than I can count."
Another ex-student, Michael Brown, describes the school’s food situation as "appalling". "We were often served cold, congealed meat with moldy bread," he said. "It was a wonder some of us didn’t get food poisoning."
Investigation and Government Response
In response to the growing scandal, the UK government has announced an independent investigation into the allegations. "The welfare and safety of all young people in our care is of paramount importance," said a government spokesperson. "We will leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of these allegations."

I was born way after it closed, but it didn’t stop my parents from telling my siblings and I, “if you keep acting like that, we’re sending you to Kis-Lyn!” It was this reform school for boys that closed some time in the 1960s.
I was curious if there was anyone on here who either attended or knew of someone who attended or had really any good information about it. My uncle, who’s currently dealing with another bout of cancer, had apparently gone there and the only story I remember him telling me was not a good one. I was looking online about it and I rarely see any negative reviews or negative stories, but it’s also mostly news articles and not many personal accounts, so I was hoping posting here would be useful. I think the combination of reflecting on my uncle’s life and thinking about how a lot of people’s parents used to threaten them with this school made me curious. Thanks everyone!
