Smite 2 Skin Prices Spark Outrage: Players Demand Action from Hi-Rez Studios
[Published: March 15, 2023]
In a shocking move, Hi-Rez Studios has unleashed a new wave of skin prices in Smite 2, leaving players reeling in disbelief. The latest updates have introduced a slew of cosmetics, but at a steep cost that has left many wondering if the value is worth the investment.
According to sources, the new skins range from $10 to a whopping $40 per item, with some rare and exclusive skins reaching prices of up to $60. This unprecedented increase has sparked a firestorm of controversy among the Smite community, with many calling for action from Hi-Rez Studios.
"I’ve been playing Smite for years, and I’ve never seen prices this ridiculous," said a frustrated player, who wished to remain anonymous. "It’s like they’re trying to squeeze every last penny out of us. I’m not made of money, and I’m not going to shell out $40 for a skin just because it looks cool."
The outrage is not limited to individual players, as prominent streamers and YouTubers have also weighed in on the issue. "I love Smite, but these prices are out of control," said popular streamer, Lirik. "I understand that game developers need to make a profit, but this is just greed. Hi-Rez needs to rethink their pricing strategy before it’s too late."
As the debate rages on, many are calling for Hi-Rez Studios to reconsider their pricing model. "We want to see more affordable options for players, not just a select few who can afford the most expensive skins," said a member of the Smite community forum. "We’re not asking for much, just a fair and reasonable pricing system that doesn’t break the bank."

I don't know what to say at this point everything looked promising they said
- they will give back the gems that spent on smite 1
- and even double it
Wow thats very good news for any player for who spent a lot of money and for the F2P players
But then they ruined everything
That skin costed me 400 gems back in smite 1 along with the loki last laugh "the red version of that skin "
And now you can get it back for the cheap price of almost 7 times the original price !!!!
And some will say well smite 1 did not shut down and stuff like that
Well lets be real here
They say there are no plans to shut down smite 1 but when smite 2 gets fully released
They will shut down smite 1 after that
Simply because the player base will split up some liking smite 2 and some like the original
And wont make sense to operate both games especially that smite has a lower player base that almost all the popular MOBA around there
The gems that are "refunded" for smite 2
Simply wont get you anything if the prices are like that
And i know technically the new diamond bundles give more compare to smite 1 bundles but the skins
Are way more expensive that it simply doesn't make sense
The game itself is good and fun to play despite the fact they brought up some changes that its not smite like For example the new bush system but those can change over time
They really need to fix the pricing for the skins
I know new engine
More work to do
More resources are needed
But they even said themselves changes and works that needed months in smite 1 can be done in smite 2 in Days
So I would say it should even itself out eventually
They simply have too much potential to make that game big for both old players , returned players and new Players if greed and micro transactions doesn't get ahead of them.
Simply my point of view
Thanks for reading if you came this far

Smite 2 is already dead bro… bad release date when deadlock is getting all the players. They’re almost at 100k while smite 2 struggles to keep 5k active players
Iirc, you can leave feedback on SMITE 2 for their team to see. While the currency system could potentially change from now until the official release (I imagine it likely will), that’s probably your best bet at making a tangible change, especially if other people are in agreement.
