US Military and Iraqi Forces Join Forces to Take Out 15 ISIL Fighters in Joint Raid
In a significant blow to the Islamic State (ISIL) terrorist organization, the US military announced today that 15 fighters have been killed in a joint raid with Iraqi security forces.
According to a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the operation was conducted late last night in the province of Salah al-Din, Iraq. The US military, along with Iraqi federal police and counter-terrorism forces, executed a precision strike against an ISIL hiding site, resulting in the death of the 15 fighters.
"This successful operation highlights the commitment of the US and Iraqi security forces to degrade and defeat ISIL and its affiliates," said General Kurth, Commander of US Central Command. "We will continue to work closely with our Iraqi partners to ensure the lasting defeat of this terrorist organization."
