Intel Pre-Built Systems: 50% Off or Build Ryzen and Spend More?

Are you in the market for a new computer, but unsure whether to opt for an Intel pre-built system or build your own Ryzen-powered machine? Look no further! In a shocking move, Intel has announced a 50% discount on their pre-built systems, leaving many wondering if it’s worth the savings or if building a Ryzen system is the better choice.

Intel Pre-Built Systems: The Deal of a Lifetime?

Intel’s pre-built systems are known for their ease of use and reliability, making them a great option for those who want a hassle-free computing experience. With the 50% discount, you can get your hands on a top-of-the-line Intel system for a fraction of the cost. But is it really worth it?

Ryzen: The Build-Your-Own Option

On the other hand, building a Ryzen system can be a cost-effective way to get the performance you need without breaking the bank. With Ryzen’s powerful processors and affordable prices, you can create a system that rivals Intel’s pre-built offerings. But is the extra effort worth it?

The Verdict: Is Intel’s 50% Off Deal Worth It?

So, is Intel’s 50% off deal worth it, or should you build your own Ryzen system? The answer depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you value ease of use and don’t mind paying a premium for it, Intel’s pre-built systems may be the way to go. However, if you’re looking for a more affordable option with customizable components, building a Ryzen system could be the better choice.

Hi, looking for opinions. Through my girlfriends work I can get their pre built systems for 50% off which will be cheaper then anything I could build myself. What has put me off is all their systems are Alienware which come with the 13th or 14th intel processors. I could get a pre built with a 4070ti super i714900k and 32gb of ram for 1100 CAD but the news about intels processors has put me off. If I build a new system the GPU alone would cost same as the whole pre built, what do you guys suggest.

  1. Well I suppose the good news is Alienware doesn’t offer sufficient cooling for the 14900k to begin with so the CPU will probably throttle itself before it hits those higher clocks that generate those higher voltages that cause degradation. Drawback is Alienware’s i9s tend to perform more like i7s due to the throttling when run at full load.

Beyond that Alienware systems have a lot of proprietary stuff in them eg. case, motherboard and power supply, so your upgrade options are very limited.

With such a large discount it might be worth it, but you’d want to make sure you get the latest BIOS with Intel’s latest microcode and you probably would want to manually power limit your CPU down to 150 Watts max to avoid thermal throttling. Even then it’s possible you may have to deal with Dell support for a warranty replacement on the CPU at some point.

  2. go with 50% off deal and bios udpate motherboard to prevent cpu failure.

4070ti super systems in CAD is $2500 system. your getting $1400 off. even if alienware its worth the huge discount
