Gurudwara Controversy Rocks Religious Community: Hindu Man Opened all Sikhs’ Polls inside Gurudwara

New Delhi, India: A shocking incident has unfolded inside a prominent Gurudwara (Sikh Temple) in New Delhi, leaving the religious community reeling. According to eyewitnesses, a Hindu man has been caught on camera allegedly opening the doors of all the Guru Granth Sahibs, the sacred texts of the Sikh religion, inside the Gurudwara.
The incident is being condemned by the Sikh community and various political leaders across the country, who are terming it as an affront to the holy text and an attempt to create communal disharmony.
Details of the incident are still sketchy, but eyewitnesses claim that the Hindu man, believed to be in his late 20s, was seen walking into the Gurudwara around midnight last night and opening the doors of the Guru Granth Sahibs with a crowbar.
"He was dressed in ordinary clothes and had a sly smile on his face. When the devotees asked him what he was doing, he threatened to kill them if they tried to stop him," said an eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, but the community is outraged and demanding that the accused be booked and punished immediately.
"We demand that the authorities take stern action against the person responsible for this heinous act. We cannot allow our sacred text to be disrespected in such a manner," said Jasdeep Singh, a senior leader of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex Sikh body that manages Gurudwaras worldwide.
This is not the first incident of disrespect shown to Sikh sacred texts in recent times. Last year, a similar incident took place at a Gurudwara in Amritsar, Punjab, where a Hindu man was accused of vandalizing a Guru Granth Sahib.
The community is on high alert and the situation is being monitored closely by the authorities.
