Huddersfield Appoint Luke Robinson as Head Coach on Three-Year Deal
Sky Sports can exclusively reveal that Huddersfield have appointed Luke Robinson as their new Head Coach on a three-year deal.
The 37-year-old, who has been in charge of the Huddersfield Giants’ academy since 2017, has signed a three-year contract to take the reins at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Robinson, who has a wealth of experience in the game, has worked his way up the ranks, starting as a coach at the Giants’ scholarship programme before being promoted to the academy set-up.
Huddersfield’s Director of Rugby, Richard Agar, hailed Robinson’s appointment as a major coup for the club. "We are delighted to announce Luke as our new Head Coach," Agar said. "He has an outstanding track record as a coach and has already shown his ability to develop young players at the academy.
"Luke’s appointment is a testament to our commitment to developing homegrown talent and we are confident that he will continue to drive success for the club."
Robinson becomes the fourth Head Coach in Huddersfield’s Super League history, following in the footsteps of Paul Anderson, Nathan Brown, and Chris Thorman.
Sky Sports understands that Robinson has already begun building his backroom staff, with former Giants players Stuart Fielden and Luke O’Donnell among those linked with the role.
