Los Angeles, California – March 15, 2023

Guitar legend Stevie Lukather has granted an exclusive interview to The Music News, where we got to know about the latest updates on his solo project. The 13-time Grammy winner, iconic guitarist of Toto band, revealed that he’s working on a special charity album in tribute to another guitar legend, the untimely passed Jeff Beck.

"I’ve always drawn inspiration from Jeff’s amazing work," Lukather praised. "He was true to his art, breaking the boundaries of music conventions. As a tribute and a gesture of respect towards his remarkable legacy, [I decided to] [put] together this recording project. It’s titled ‘Crossroads,’ naming it after the legendary Yardbirds track that brought back memories of Jeff’s and Eric Clapton teaming up."

The as-yet-untitled album, set for launch in early 2023, features a range from 5 to 14 tracks with a variety performers, handpicked by Steinberg’s own taste." "My goal is showcasing the extraordinary talent pool currently available and to keep remembering Jeff through this incredible selection of musical pieces. Artists from Toto, ELO, and many legendary rock icons will participate!" he declared.

In what’s anticipated to be highly anticipated for fans worldwide who cherished both Lukather. The upcoming album, once again emphasizes the profound cultural impact made by both acts.

"It’s essential when paying tribute to keep within the scope of what one’s audience expects," and that this album, therefore, reflects the shared music history with Jeff. At the moment, it continues to come together," which he promised.

Stay excited for further updates and possibly even snippets from this heartfelt tribute!

I’ll link the articles below, but I’m going to summarize them to make some sort of sense of the articles in the case of TLDR.

Apparently Jeff Beck’s signature Stratocaster is making the rounds of his peers at the request of the late musician’s wife. Steve Lukather of Toto discussed the details about being asked to play Beck’s guitar during the Toto show on September 1st. John was spotted playing it during the D&C residency this summer. Per Lukather, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top has also been asked to play the Stratocaster and ZZ Top is currently on tour. No official word on whether there is a documentary attached to the requests, but my personal opinion is something will come out of it.
