So, having had a few bad experiences with mechanics, and cosmetic damage to my car, the love relationship has kinda died off and I’m thinking about moving on.

Is there a market for slightly visually compromised but mechanically perfect track cars?

Mine is as follows:

2009 – 59 plate NC2 / mk3.5 sport tech

50k miles

Full record of servicing, dealer and then Independent / diy with receipts

Car has had everying it always wanted to stay heathy and has had a few upgrades:

-meister R clubrace coilovers

-h&r adjustable anti roll bars

-pro track one racing wheels with Nankang AR1

-original 17” alloys with p zero on them

-pbs pro race pads

-motul rbf 660 fluid.

-IL motorsports chassis braces

-sound tube delete

-cobalt back box

-new Bosch battery

-new front lower arms and all bolts renewed

All fluids have been fully replaced in the last month, with fresh oil, filter, brake fluid, and gearbox / differential fluid.

Spec also includes:

-leather heated seats

-retrimmed flat bottomed steering wheel from royal wheels

-CarPlay touchscreen head unit

-Bose speaker system

-IL motorsport gear knob

So what’s the bad news?

Well the front bumper is cracked. It had a small incident at track side, and I replaced the headlight, fog light, trim, etc with new parts, but never got around to fixing the bumper.

At its last visit to mechanics, they managed to crease the rear bumper!! And there’s a few small rust spots starting to appear.

But… and it’s a big but. It’s gone through it last two MOT’s without a single advisory, the engine is utterly bomb proof and runs like a champ.

So, do we think it’s sellable and if so… for what?

  1. So while I know I can never get back what has been spent on it. This car has had literally thousands of pounds getting it to the machine it is today.

Oh forgot to mention, it also had two brand new rear calipers fitted last year and the front ones cleaned up and new bleed nipples fitted.

If someone can live with the looks, it wants for nothing mechanically.
