[Published Date: March 2024]
Mexico City, Mexico – The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) has made its way to Mexico, and the enthusiasm is palpable. Ahead of the conference, Latin American Post had the exclusive opportunity to sit down with Carlos Leal, a prominent Mexican politician and fervent defender of life.
Latin American Post (LAP): Honored to have you on board, Carlos. The CPAC Mexico 2024 conference is a testament to the growing influence of conservative values in the region. What do you believe sets this event apart?
Carlos Leal (CL): Thank you for having me. Yes, CPAC Mexico is a significant milestone, and I’m thrilled to see conservatives from across the country come together to promote their values. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to the sacredness of human life and our unrelenting quest for individual freedom.
LAP: As a tireless defender of life, what specific initiatives would you like to see take shape in Mexico’s government and society?
CL: We must prioritize pro-life policies, starting with protecting the unborn and shielding the vulnerable from harm. I believe in creating an environment where life is respected and cherished from conception to natural death. We should also focus on promoting social programs that support families, particularly those with young children.
LAP: Mexico has faced significant social and economic challenges in recent years. How do you think CPAC Mexico can contribute to addressing these pressing issues?
CL: CPAC Mexico provides a platform for like-minded individuals to share ideas, experiences, and solutions. It’s an opportunity for conservative leaders to showcase their proposals and collaborate on addressing common challenges. By doing so, we can build a stronger, more resilient country that values individual liberty, economic growth, and the common good.
LAP: As the co-founder of the conservative organization, "Movimiento Pro-Vida" (Life Movement), what are your expectations for the future of pro-life activism in Mexico?
CL: The tide is turning in Mexico. More and more young people are becoming involved in the pro-life movement, and we’re seeing growing momentum. I’m excited to see the impact our collective efforts will have in shaping a more pro-life, pro-family, and pro-freedom agenda in our country.
LAP: Last but not least, what advice would you give to individuals who are passionate about championing conservative values in Latin America?
CL: To those who share my convictions, I say this: never give up the fight. Stay true to your values, even when they’re unpopular. Embrace the power of networking and collaboration. And, most importantly, pray and remain steadfast in your commitment to protecting life and promoting individual freedom.
