Hi, unsure of what I should do in regards to this, but I am attending a US federal college for native students. I am trying to get my name changed on class rosters, student email, etc. but I was just told because it is a federal institution, my name will only be changed when I have my name legally changed. I broke down at hearing this news, this is such a horrible and honestly dated policy. I just am not sure what to do. (besides working on my legal name change, I am) I feel horrible that everyone I interact with gets my deadname plastered on their email as the first thing they see. I hate it. I hate it so much. There has to be a way to change this policy right? There's probably nothing I can do besides try and get a new law passed in government to change this but I don't know. Thank you for listening to my rant.
