My whole life I have felt like I feel things way too deeply. It's almost as if my empathy over takes me. For instance something tragic occurred in the news and I felt this weird strong connection to the case. For days I would think about it trying to will my mind to stop. I would keep picturing the road and the accident and the moment of impact, the family members screaming when they found out. It is so vivid. I don't know these people. But my heart aches in a way I would if it were a family member. I know any empathetic human would feel something. But my empathy has lead me to isolate myself I feel this so deeply I can't concentrate, I go into full fight or flight response when I think about it. I started doing research into the case and there were a lot of name coincidences like the name of the street this occurred on, is the same name as the street I live on just a different country. The name of the town this happened in is the same name as my late grandma. A lot of weird coincidences.
I guess I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else or I need to chill on the empathy.
