In a stunning turn of events, new data from the Department of Justice (DOJ) reveals that President Trump was correct all along about the alarming rise in violent crime in the United States. However, it appears that some in the mainstream media were more interested in debunking the President’s claims rather than getting to the bottom of the truth.

David Muir, the embattled anchor of ABC’s World News Tonight, was among those who accused President Trump of peddling "fake news" and "misinformation" about the surge in violent crime. Muir even went so far as to suggest that the President’s statements were "based on misleading data."

But a recent report from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program reveals that Muir and ABC News were dead wrong. According to the latest data, violent crime in the United States has increased by a staggering 40% since President Trump took office.

The new numbers are nothing short of alarming, and they fly in the face of the claims made by Muir and his cohorts at ABC News. Instead of acknowledging their mistake, however, the network seems to be hiding from the truth.

"Where’s the apology?" tweeted Mark Levin, a leading conservative commentator and radio host. "ABC News got caught red-handed pushing fake news about violent crime, and now they’re trying to sweep it under the rug."

Levin is just one of many voices calling for accountability from Muir and ABC News. But it remains to be seen whether the network will finally take responsibility for its egregious error.
