In a significant development, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced an online pension payment facility for its over 6 million pensioners across the country. According to sources, the new online pension payment facility was launched by EPFO chairman, Shri. Vishwajit Puri, in the presence of senior officials and pensioners. The system is expected to reduce the processing time for pension disbursement to just 5-7 days, down from the current 20-25 days.
"This is a major step forward in the direction of ease of living and ease of doing business. Our aim is to provide a seamless experience to our pensioners and make the process of pension disbursement more efficient," said Shri. Puri.
The online pension payment facility is accessible through the EPFO’s website and mobile app, and beneficiaries can track their pension disbursement status online. The facility is also integrated with the Aadhaar database to ensure accuracy and authenticity of the pensioners’ data.
