Leming: Caleb Williams Struggles as Offense Suffers, Defense Shines Despite Tough Loss
Los Angeles, CA – In a disappointing night for the Leiming offense, quarterback Caleb Williams was under pressure frequently, taking 7 sacks and being hit 11 times throughout the game. The struggles of the offense led to a paltry 205 total yards, 13 points on 66 plays, resulting in an average gain of 3.2 yards per carry.
While the struggles of the offense were substantial, the Leiming defense shone bright, delivering a solid performance despite the loss. Their impressive performance on the defensive side should give the team a lot to build upon as they look to improve in upcoming games.
For Caleb Williams, tonight’s game is a wake-up call and an opportunity for him to work on his performance before the next match. Improvement in pass protection and further development of the offense as a whole are essential in the pursuit of winning more games.
With a formidable defense in tow, there’s still plenty to like about this team, providing hope for their future chances of success.
[Leming] Caleb Williams was sacked 7 times tonight & was hit 11 times. The offense had 205 yards & 13 points on 66 plays. Even with Williams’ 24 yard run, they averaged 3.2 yards per carry on the night. That’s just not going to win games. The good news: Their defense is very good.

Where have I heard that before
The O-line is somehow even worse than last year
Why is herbert not in the mix? i dont know how our playcalling got worse
This game reminds me of the cutler game vs the giants where he was sacked like 10 times. Or the Justin fields Cleveland game. Just a pitiful o line showing
Caleb will improve as the season goes on
but man Waldron,Rushing attack and OL concern me
I’m so unbelievablely sick of hearing hey but defense good.
Yeah, this team could be good if we eventually find an offense, similar to most other seasons
Run the damn ball up the middle. These side to side plays are not working when you aren’t a threat in the middle. The LB has no reason to cover the gaps because our guards and center are turn styles.
I refuse to mourn the offense in week 2. I choose to celebrate the defense. They aren’t perfect, but they are showing signs of greatness.
Caleb needs to improve no doubt about it. But anyone saying this game is on him or that he’s a bust etc etc is just revealing themselves as someone who doesn’t understand football. 11 men on each side of the ball.
At least Caleb got to go from bad OL at USC to bad OL in CHI.
Could be worse guys. We could have had another NC QB.
What is perplexing to me is just the lack of blitz busting routes. Just fucking run slants against them, it worked for Stroud.
