Casting Buzz: Who Should Play the 60s Version of Spider-Man in Fantastic Four Movie?

The wait is over, folks! As the buzz surrounding the Fantastic Four reboot continues to intensify, fans are itching to know who will play the iconic web-slinger, Spider-Man, in the upcoming film. But here’s a twist – we’re not just looking for the modern-day Spider-Man; we’re seeking the perfect actor to bring the 60s version of Spider-Man to life!

With the film set to take us on a thrilling ride through the Fantastic Four’s early years, it’s crucial that we find an actor who can capture the essence of Peter Parker in his formative years. So, without further ado, let’s dive into our top picks for who should play the 60s version of Spider-Man:

  1. Tom Holland’s Brother, Harry Holland: Given Tom’s impressive portrayal of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his younger brother Harry seems like a natural fit. The two have already showcased their sibling chemistry in Avengers: Endgame, making it an ideal choice to have Harry step into the shoes of a younger Spider-Man.
  2. Ansel Elgort: With his dashing good looks and charming on-screen presence, Ansel Elgort could bring a fresh spin to the classic character. His roles in Baby Driver and The Fault in Our Stars demonstrate his versatility and ability to capture the complexities of his characters.
  3. Asa Butterfield: Although he’s primarily known for his work in films like Hugo and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Asa Butterfield has the range to play a more introverted, bookish Spider-Man. His gangly frame and endearing awkwardness could make him an unlikely yet captivating Spider-Man.
  4. Timothée Chalamet: With his versatility in films like Call Me By Your Name and Lady Bird, Timothée Chalamet has already proven his acting chops. His youthful energy and vulnerable performance could bring a new depth to the 60s version of Spider-Man, exploring the character’s emotional struggles as he navigates his superpowers.
  5. Ashton Sanders: As the breakout star of Moonlight, Ashton Sanders showcased his emotional range and subtle intensity. His edgy, androgynous look could bring an exciting new perspective to the role, highlighting Spider-Man’s struggles as a teenage hero.

Now, we know what you’re thinking – what about the chemistry between Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Our team is already speculating on potential casting choices for Sue Storm, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and Human Torch.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Fantastic Four reboot, and don’t forget to let us know in the comments – who do you think should play the 60s version of Spider-Man?

To clarify, there's no news or rumor about this; it's just speculation based on the movie being set in the '60s, which raises the chances of building a comic-accurate Marvel universe. Spider-Man, one of the most popular characters, was also established in that era.

  1. Well, if we’re to understand that it takes place in 1963 (I understand that Grimm is reading a Life magazine from 1963 in some of the promo artwork) then that would mean this coincides with Peter Parker’s origin: when he was 15.

So I will pitch Griffin Santopietro of Cobra Kai who is 17 but looks younger.

  2. omg yes i didnt consider this but that would be so amazing if we saw that, since its the mcu i’d love to see tom cameo as spider-man and wear the red and black ditko suit or perhaps cameo as peter parker in the outfit he wore in amazing fantasy 15 with the shirt and vest and red tie with the circular glasses.

I doubt they’d do something as cool as a 60’s spider-man cameo tho but it’d be cool to see some insight on that worlds other superheroes before it probably gets destroyed by galactus at the end and they travel to the mcu world
