I’m mixed race white and Asian from a high income household. I have legacy as both my parents attended Yale for their undergraduate degrees. I am applying early action. Below are my stats:

1550 SAT and 3.91 unweighted GPA and 4.86 weighted GPA. My school does not rank its students. I am in a magnet program. Not gonna say where I’m from but it’s a fairly competitive applicant pool.

I have taken 8 AP tests and received 5s on all of them ( AP Lang, BC calc, Physics mech and e and m among others). I have taken a relatively difficult courseload because of my Magnet program but I’ve only actually taken 5 AP classes (if you don’t count senior year). I would personally consider my courseload rigorous.

I have played a Varsity sport since Sophomore year. I played this sport at the JV level as a Freshman.

In my spare time I create films. I have received over 50 selections from various film festivals and several other awards. I had a film screened on PBS. The amount of prize money I have received for my films totals over $6000

I have an internship with a nonprofit company producing a film. I did this internship for one year.

For the past three years I have been a part of the student run school news organization. We produce short videos shown to all students at the beginning of every school day.

I got national merit semifinalist and that’s pretty hard to do in the state I’m from.

I would really appreciate a rough estimate of the chance that I will be accepted.

  1. Probably 50-50 which is really, really good odds for Yale!

It likely depends on who else is applying from your high school. I go to a super competitive high school and you can have the best stats ever (and even legacy) but if there are two committed athletes or the kids of big donors applying you can get bumped.
