My boyfriend & I were arguing in his car in the parking lot. Things got heated and I broke something of his in his car, which resulted in him smacking me a few times outside of the car as I was trying to enter my own vehicle. Another employee seen it from his vehicle, told other associates and it got back to HR. Both HR & Loss Prevention had a short meeting with me telling me they reviewed the cameras & were asking me a bunch of questions regarding the incident. I told them what I did and that is why he hit me. LP & HR has placed him on suspension. For context this happened last Sunday, they spoke to me this past Tuesday the 24th & called him today on his day off to relay the news. 2 questions, is he most likely going to get fired for hitting me? Am I going to get put on suspension and eventually fired too for breaking something of his while on Amazon property? They haven’t suspended me & they told him on the phone that they were going to investigate & “talk to more people” then let him know what decision they make. My thing is what investigation? The cameras showed everything & there was a witness. I just don’t get why they’re dragging their feet with this situation. I thought if you hit someone you automatically get terminated not suspended.
