Hi all!

As the title suggests, when Warlord’s of Draenor came out I used my character boost on a Blood Elf hunter to get to Level 90. I used to play waaaay back in 2014-2016 and only recently returned to find her level 40? Several of my other level 80’s+ are now in level 30-50 range. I noticed after buying TWW that max level is now 80? I understand I got character boost rewards in my mail, but I was just curious how they’ve changed the levelling in my 8-10 year absence. (I’ve definitely missed a lot of WoW news and can’t seem to find any info on Google).

Currently loving Dragonflight and The War Within, playing level 71 on my Evoker (totally new experience for me), so no quarrels there! However, I’m just curious, because I distinctly remember when I had my garrison in WoD I was level 90. No qualms, just curiosity.

Thanks<3

  1. Squish History TL;DR:

    * End of MoP: Reduced stats on gear compared to item level
    * End of Legion: Reduced the item level of all gear
    * End of BfA: Reduced player level so that 120 = 50, then resumed leveling increases (SL max was 60, DF max 70, TWW max 80)

  2. things have changed. it is impossible atm to reach lvl 90, it would be also weird if your [past expansion] character was max level already so it is lower level. that’s it
