Did Randle Request a Trade? Knicks Star’s Future in Jeopardy
New York, NY – March 15, 2023
In a shocking turn of events, sources close to the New York Knicks have revealed that star forward Julius Randle may have requested a trade from the team. The news has sent shockwaves throughout the NBA, leaving fans and analysts alike wondering what’s next for the 27-year-old forward.
According to reports, Randle’s representatives have been in talks with the Knicks’ front office, expressing the player’s desire to explore other options. The exact reasons behind Randle’s request are unclear, but it’s believed that his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance and his own role in the offense may have played a significant factor.
Randle, who signed a three-year, $62 million extension with the Knicks in 2021, has been a key contributor to the team’s success in recent seasons. However, his production has been inconsistent this year, and some have questioned his ability to lead the team to a deep playoff run.
If Randle does indeed request a trade, the Knicks will be forced to consider their options. With a limited amount of cap space and a lack of attractive trade assets, it’s unclear what the team could offer in return for a player of Randle’s caliber.

Evidence for the fact that he may have requested a trade:
- First of all, no extension this summer. Randle wouldn't be the first player to try and push for a trade after failing to receive an extension
- The whole Jersey fiasco on twitter, Randle was reportedly frustrated
- This guy who met Chris Haynes said "someone wants out" (could also mean Divincenzo based off the reporting)
- His wife, Kendra Randle, almost immediately on social media sounded very excited. This would be very unusual if this trade came out of nowhere for them, most people would be devastated at having to uproot their family to move across the country. Even if they are excited for the opportunity, surely most people would have taken a few hours to process this life changing news

I don’t think he requested a trade, but it was pretty clear NY didn’t want to give him a large extension.
