Raleigh, NC – North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson was rushed to the hospital earlier today after suffering second-degree burns in an incident at a campaign event in Raleigh, authorities confirmed.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 9:30 AM EST at the event, which was being held at the Raleigh Convention Center. Details of the incident are still unclear, but sources close to the matter indicate that Robinson was treated on the scene before being transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
"The Lieutenant Governor is receiving treatment for second-degree burns and is in stable condition," said a spokesperson for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. "We are working closely with the hospital to ensure that he receives the best possible care."
