Bengals Activate OLB Myles Murphy from Injured Reserve, Ending 21-Game Drought

In a surprising move, the Cincinnati Bengals have activated Outside Linebacker Myles Murphy from injured reserve, just in time for their upcoming Week 13 showdown against the Cleveland Browns.

After spending 21 long games on the sidelines with a foot injury, Murphy is expected to return to practice in the next three weeks. The Bengals had been hoping to get a glimpse of their star rookie in the lineup, but injuries had other plans. With their playoff hopes still intact, Cincinnati is eager to get their talented defender back on the field.

"The medical team has given Myles the green light to return, and we’re excited to have him back," said Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor. "We’ll slowly work him back into the rotation, making sure he’s 100% ready to go when we need him most."

Miles Murphy, an outside linebacker from Clemson University, was drafted by the Bengals with the 4th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. His dynamic playmaking abilities and imposing physical presence made him an immediate fan favorite.

In a season marred by injuries, Murphy’s return can’t come at a better time. Cincinnati has managed to stay relevant despite several key losses, but his presence will be a welcomed boost to a struggling pass rush.

  1. I think this is potentially very good news. Hubbard lined up inside at NT for some snaps this past week, which might be a better fit for him with his current mobility issues.

If Murphy can come back and take over Hubbards position in the end, I think we could see Hubbard contribute more in the middle. Two upgrades at once.
