The latest season of Overwatch, Season 12, has officially kicked off, and with it comes a flurry of new content, updates, and challenges for players worldwide. As we dive into the heart of the season, let’s take a closer look at the state of the game and what you can expect.
Balance Changes
The Season 12 balance changes have been met with a mixed reaction from the community. While some heroes have received significant buffs, others have taken a hit. Reinhardt’s rocket punch, for example, has been nerfed, making him less of a pick for competitive players. On the other hand, Ana’s Biotic Drone has received a buff, making her a more formidable opponent on the battlefield.
New Skins and cosmetic Content
As is customary with each new season, Blizzard has dropped a plethora of new skins and cosmetic content for players to collect and show off. This season’s skins range from adorable to downright sinister, giving players a plethora of options to express their individuality.
Event Modes
The event mode "Midseason Madness" has made its return, offering a unique and challenging twist on the standard Overwatch game mode. This mode pits two teams against each other, with the twist being that each hero has a randomized ability, forcing players to adapt quickly and think on their feet.
Professional Scene
The professional scene has been in a state of flux since the season started, with top teams and players dropping out or taking extended breaks. This has led to a shift in the power dynamics, giving up-and-coming teams a chance to rise to the top. Will the usual suspects return to dominance, or will new heroes emerge to challenge them?

I keep seeing news and reports trashing on overwatch current competitive scene, and how Overwatch's current "flaws" are making the game worse (assumingly worse than previous seasons, if I had to assume).
On the other hand, I have seen more and more Overwatch content creators (XQC, TimTheTatMan etc.) Come back to overwatch for S12. I myself have found the game more enjoyable with the current balance patch as opposed to S10. What do you think?

could be better, could be *a lot* worse. it’s fine to me.
The news reports are actually awful, but it says a lot more about Jeff Kaplan and blizz being stubborn than the actual current state of the game. This game WAS supposed to be bigger, and they capitalized terribly.
However, I’d like to say this: The game is significantly more popular than people are lead to believe. Its a F2P game that generates great value, and we’ve seen milestones from the devs (last one was like 25 million recurring players i believe?) We have timthetatman posting the game, and most of all we have a tremendous casual playerbase thats – at this point, mostly newer players that started on Ow2. I had 3 friends start playing the game this month alone.
There is a market for videos dunking on OW. You can find 400 videos of “the downfall of Ow2” but never something on why we’re getting constant collabs from animes/a K-pop band/Cartoon/A… car company? If we’re declining, these companies are absolutely wasting their time.
decent overall actually. But they will fk it up with 6v6 next season. Everytime the game is in a playable state, devs fk it up.
