The 1975’s lead singer Matty Healy is engaged to model Gabbriette Bechtel.
Bechtel, 26, announced the exciting news in a post on her Instagram story Tuesday night, sharing a photo of her engagement ring — a stunning large black gem surrounded by pave diamonds.
“Marrying the 1975 is very brat” she wrote as a caption, in reference to Charli XCX’s latest album “Brat.” The couple had attended Charli XCX’s concert in New York City on Tuesday night, with Bechtel sharing videos of herself dancing at the Brooklyn show.
Healy, 35, reshared her post regarding the ring on his own Instagram story.
The British crooner and the model were first linked together in September when they were snapped kissing and holding hands in New York City, People Magazine reported. Representatives for Healey did not immediately respond to an NBC News request for comment on the engagement.
Healy’s mother, actor Denise Welch, confirmed the couple’s engagement on British talk show “Loose Women” Wednesday morning.
“I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged … They went over to see their friends Charli and George in New York and I woke up this morning to the fact they’ve put it on Instagram … he’s got engaged to Gabriella Bechtel — Gabbriette she’s known as,” she said, People reported.
“Black diamond; he had it made for her,” she continued. “I couldn’t be more thrilled. We couldn’t be happier — she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law. I’m thrilled.”
Healy was previously linked to model Meredith Mickelson and Taylor Swift, and Bechtel has previously dated Levi Dylan, grandson of Bob Dylan.
