As a young teenager (13-15) Ciara Stacho was a frequent runaway who often used her middle name Simone.
She was known to engage in sex work and could often be spotted on "back page" type listings.
Ciara loved her mother and often kept in contact, but after she went missing in 2015 at age 16 contact with mom dried up.
Dawn Stacho told Local 4 that Ciara Stacho had run away from home, but she had exchanged text messages with her daughter just three days before she disappeared, and she was ready to return.
“I told her it was time to come home, you know, and so she could be a productive member of society,” Stacho said. “She was getting older. She was 16, and she said, ‘Yeah.’ She knew, and she was ready to come home, and then nobody. That was the last time anybody saw or heard from her.”
It's been almost a decade without Ciara, and we are no closer to knowing her location now than we were in 2015.
Her mother, Dawn died a couple of years ago, leaving only friends and a few family members to carry on searching for Ciara. I know it's unlikely that the answers are in this subreddit, but Ciara was a child, and she deserves to be remembered, recovered and laid to rest properly.
Now that her mother is gone, the local news stopped reporting on her case, there is no "close family" left to interview.
