What’s the Best Version to Play Mods on in English?
The question on everyone’s mind: which version of the game is best for playing mods? The answer is not straightforward, as different versions have their own pros and cons. But fear not, dear mod-seekers! We’ve got the definitive guide to help you make an informed decision.
The Contenders
- Stardew Valley v1.4: The latest stable release, v1.4, brings numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements. However, it’s still an older version, which may limit the types of mods you can play.
- Stardew Valley v1.5 (Beta): The latest beta version, v1.5, introduces many exciting features, including a new API for modders. While it’s not entirely stable, it’s a great testing ground for mod developers.
- Stardew Valley v1.6 (Experimental): The experimental version, v1.6, is a hotbed for modding innovation. With constant updates and bug fixes, it’s ideal for those who want to be part of the bleeding edge of modding.
The Verdict
For English-speaking players, we recommend starting with Stardew Valley v1.4 or v1.5 (Beta) due to their stability and wider availability of mods. However, if you’re adventurous and willing to take the risk, the v1.6 Experimental version might be the way to go.
Why Choose One Over the Others?
- Stability: v1.4 is the most stable version, making it perfect for playing mods without worrying about crashes or instability.
- Mod Support: v1.5 (Beta) has a growing list of compatible mods, with many developers updating their content to support the new API.
- Innovation: v1.6 Experimental is where the future of modding lies, with rapid updates and bug fixes ensuring a high level of stability.

What is the best version to play mods on

1.7.10
I want to play on 1.7.10 or 1.12.2 but in reality I play on 1.20.1, I am ashamed of myself.
Hands down 1.12.2/1.7.10.
Most mods are made for those versions still.
This is bait isnt it
1.18.2 is weirdly specific
I use 1.19.2. Hate me.
I play newer versions because they run better (with 200 performance mods installed)
Is there a mod that brings every change from 1.16 back to 1.12? I‘m not just talking about blocks or items. Also GUI, movement etc…
When I try to play a 1.12 pack I hate how everything vanilla feels different.
